The Irish – Re-intro part 1

I’m waiting for my Buffalo Bill, so I have a minute to tell you a tale about this food temple.

December 2015 saw a new contender enter the mauritian restauration scene. And it was a heavy one. Between Quatres Bornes, Rose Hill and Ebene, with ample parking space of the Trianon Shopping Mall, The Irish Pub & Restaurant is ideally located, be it for a business lunch, a romantic dinner or to grab a beer or ten with friends.

You’ll know you are in an Irish pub when you step in. The kitch setup, the cliché bar and just about everything will take you to Dublin. That’s exactly what the Irish is about. Authenticity with a dash of modernity. A selection of mainstream and underground DJs are invited every weekend. Good food, good beer and live music, what can you ask for more?

Well, I said good food, I might have understated it a little. How do you serve an authentic traditional irish stew or a shepherd’s pie in Mauritius? The restaurant has a simple solution. Dublin native Chef Ronan Boucher runs the kitchen and will stall your hunger with an entirely home made menu. From burger patties, buns, sauces, to desserts, everything is done by the chef and his team. Yummy!

Bottoms up! Did anyone say drinks? There’s a team of bartenders ready to skillfully execute anything from the 4 page drinks menu, where popular cocktails have been reworked, the Irish style. There’s also a non alcoholic section, with home made freshly squeezed juice, smoothies, milkshakes, ice tea and citronades.

Just downed my Irish Ice Coffee and my burger’s here. I’ll tell you about it next time!
